Inside Northlight: Bespoke Carpet Edging
Nicola Edwards Bespoke Carpet Edging makes bespoke carpet stair runners and rugs, each one is made to order out of her office at Northlight.
“Most people who do what I do work from a unit on an industrial estate. I wanted something different. I want an upmarket feel to business and that’s what we get here at Northlight” - Nicola Edwards, Founder and Managing Director
How did you hear about Northlight?
We heard about Northlight through social media. Since the redevelopment started, we started seeing the conversations online and it seemed like a good fit for our business. There’s also a great family connection because my grandfather used to work here when it was a working mill. To have my own business based here is like closing the circle.
Why did you choose Northlight?
“To put it simply, Northlight has the WOW factor”
Our products are quite high end so we wanted a location that would match. We’re going to be entertaining clients here at Northlight and with a location like this it’s sure to make a great impression.
What impressed you the most?
It’s the overall look and feel of the place. It always was an impressive building, even before the renovation. Now it’s been made into a luxury office space and business centre it’s become a top resource for the business community. Credit to the developers, they’ve done a brilliant job bringing this old mill into the 21st century. They’ve done it in a sensitive way, retaining the original character of the building.
On top of that, it’s well located near the M65 which makes it easy to get to. I often go and visit clients and our retailer partners, so it’s handy for me to be straight out and onto the motorway network.
