Black Sheep Coffee Set To Launch City-Style Food and Drink at Northlight
The final phases of the £34m redevelopment of Northlight, the historic mill in Brierfield, are underway, and the latest addition to the estate is the global coffee brand Black Sheep Coffee!
With over 80 branches worldwide and new locations planned as far-flung as Dallas, Miami and Dubai, East Lancashire is certainly in for a treat when the fantastic coffee bar opens. The nearest branches are in Manchester and Preston, so Northlight residents, workers and visitors can experience the taste of city living right on their doorstep.
Black Sheep Coffee are the only retail coffee company in the world to serve 100% speciality grade Robusta coffee, and the only speciality coffee business in the UK to have it as a speciality house bean, making them innovators in the coffee industry.
Black Sheep noted, "We're absolutely thrilled to be coming to Northlight Estates! We'll be serving our full range of single-origin coffees, extensive milk and alt-milk options, our signature Norwegian waffles, organic smoothies and shakes, and freshly baked pastries. Customers can still expect to come in and get their regular coffee, but with the Black Sheep twist, an immersive urban experience combined with music and art. We still offer the standard range of coffees, such as latte, cappuccino, flat white, and more. We also have our own range of signature drinks, which includes the Black Hoof, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Turmeric Latte and Honey Oat Cardamom Latte. They can expect to Leave the Herd Behind and no longer experience boring, average-tasting coffee."
Holly Ducker, Estate Director and brand manager for the new franchise, commented, "It's an exciting time for the development and our team. We are incredibly pleased that we have been able to secure the partnership with Black Sheep Coffee. It's a great addition to the site and undoubtedly will become a popular destination for our "Northlighters" and the wider community."
Managing Director of Group First, Toby Whittaker, added, "I'm absolutely delighted to welcome Black Sheep Coffee to Northlight; I always stop by when I'm visiting Manchester. Their food and drinks are superb, definitely a step above most high-street coffee outlets, and they have a variety that I haven't seen locally."
Transformation of the former engine house will take place to provide bespoke premises for the coffee shop, including seating spread across two floors with canal-side views overlooking Pendle. Externally - outside space will be created to allow for a street food feel on the beautiful grounds of the Northlight Estate.
The new facility is expected to be open to the public before the end of the year.
